So I'm getting the engine compartment cleaned up (and still looking for that elusive jack mounting location dang it ;) ) and I notice that where the intercooler pipe goes to the intercooler is a bit oil soaked. Don't think it's from the front main seal 'cause it's not inline with the seal and there's no oil anywhere else in on the fenders, etc.

I also noticed that on the outside of the A/C condenser there's a lot of caked oil residue on the right side about the middle of the coil but there's no evidence of it coming from anywhere in the front which makes me wonder if it's coming from behind, like from the intercooler?

Are the intercoolers prone to leakage?

Thanks,

Mike

The air intake system "should" be oil residue free. A worn/leaking turbo can and will distrubute oil into the pipe and IC

The A/C system is full of oil. A leak in any of the system components can distribute an oil residue.
