Should I buy these? Edit: Bought!

I found a pair of brand new 5"x48" miter cut stacks for $90. I've been ready to order a set for a while now, just havent yet. I only need around 36" to get the height i need (top of cab). Should I just get these and cut em down to size? I haven't been able to find anywhere else cheaper than $60 a stack, so $90 for a pair is a great deal I think. Let me know what yall think. thanks

Jeff

Edit: Bought!

Now i just need to get the elbows and necessary piping.

Jeff BUY THEM! Oo. :-laf You can't get 'em that cheap anywhere else! And you can use the excess as part of your crosspipe if your going that route.

Great! thanks guys. Im gonna buy em tomorrow. Mark this is GotSmoke #2 from PS.com if ya didn't already know. :)

Im going to cut my pipe off right under the bed, 90 it up just into the bed, use a universal Y pipe, a 90 on each bed corner into 4"-5" reducers.

I found another set also, but they are the elbowed type at the top. Like yours i think mark. Wich do ya think would look better on my truck. I need some that wont stick out behond the cab too bad b/c i'm offroad all the time!

Its all in personal preference. I like Miter cuts but the two major things about them were on my Reg cab they RESONATED like a SUM *****, and two they turned my truck into a holestien (milk cow) after rainy days. On your Ext. Cab they will probably resonate less, and if they do you will still have plenty of room for a resinator of some sort. Also to help with the rain/soot shower you can drill some holes in the bottom of the elbows. One of my KY diesel club members has a Ext. Cab with turnouts and I just think the Miter's just look meaner. Let me show you a pic though and you decide for yourself. Personally with the stance you truck has I would go with the miters! ;) Oo.

Here is a picture of his plumbing (lousy pic, was after dusk)

My original setup with Miter cuts that resonated horribly

My current setup, that is probably too tall for your liking, but just right for a regular cab, with just a hit of "humm" with the windows up. :-laf

Well mark now ya have me thinkin. Hmmm miter or turnouts?

 I've always loved the miter cut look but sometimes the turnouts look awsome too. Dangit! But i think the turnouts will still stick out a tad and get wacked, dinged, and scratched by trees and branches on tight trails. Miter it is!

thanks bud :D

Edit: do you happen to have a better pic of the piping? Or maybe yours? Should i just 90 it straight up from the current location or angle it towards the middle more (underneath the bed), so it will come out more centered?

I know its too late but with the turn outs it wouldnt stick out if you made turn out turn in. I have always liked the turn out better. There will be pics next week.

Mark I gotta get my hands on the elbows, flex pipe, and a y pipe so i can get em on. Im lookin around here for some shops.

Dougmartin, It was a hard decision but in the end I like the miter cut alot better. Thanks for your input though.
