There was a hotly debated discussion over this, whether or not the new Dodge's need to monitor fuel pressure. I read in TDR that you don't need to worry about fuel pressure as this truck uses the same HPCR system as the Duramax and that truck doesn't even have a lift pump. Neither does the European version of this Cummins motor. The reason it's on the US version according to the TDR article is for fuel priming when changing the filter or if you run out of gas.
That being said, the guys who bomb their trucks have determined that they can really suck the fuel pressure down with all of their mods, so some of them want to monitor it. Personally I'm not going to bomb my truck as I need a good dependable truck that will get my family and I from point A to point B without the concern of being my own warranty station, so unless something comes up in the future that changes my mind, I'm not going to monitor the fuel pressure on this truck. I can hear the lift pump fire up when I start the truck and if I get to the point it doesn't do it, then I'll worry about it...
Also, the 30 psi boost gauge should cover ya unless you plan to bomb it. I like the Westach gauges personally, but it boils down to what you like and what has a good reputation for durability...
