I am contemplating selling my crew cab. I love the truck but I don't need something this big. A regular cab would be a better fit my needs right now. I said I would never sell it, because somewhere down the road I would wish I didn't. Decisions, Decisions.....

nice looking truck,, I had written Bayer a note from their website a while back inquiring about their pricing, never heard anything from them, still curious, without getting too personal ,,about how much does something like that cost to have done, I had seen their pictures of some of their SUV /truck conversions, like a real full size Ramcharger for sake of a better name, verry nice,,,,,,,,

Definately sell it, then let me know about it!

Well, it's a really nice looking truck. I hear that Bayer does 1st class work. 12v, 4 doors. Sweet combo. I would never give that up.

But hey, if it's gotta go, let us know. I bet there are a few people on this board that would love to have it.

Wanna trade for an '01???? :D Same colors. :-laf

I am not sure on the exact cost because I am the second owner. Judging by the conversation with the original owner it was around $15k in 97. I talked to a guy the other day that said Bayer wanted $10k in 1994. At the cost of shop labor today and the cost of steel I couldn't imagine it got any cheaper. To make a dodge 4 door, (like 03-05) look like a mega cab (add 1 foot to the cab) it costs $6k at the Alton company.

I don't know how much. I figure I will take offers when it comes to that, because it isn't something you can just compare prices on.

I kind of want a first gen actually, my brother already has a 24v.

Ok guys for the conversion it is right around 14k. And I also have the same truck that he does. The work is outstanding. And for the right money I might consider selling mine. But just letting you know how much money is in the Conversion.

ps famaliy and i will be heading out towards your area in last part of may might stop and see you and your brother again

Thanks RLamarr, for the amount, I was pretty close on the estimate. There are probably options on the conversion that make it cost more or less too. Your truck still makes mine look low end. I don't have near the power of you or the newer interior.

well boys mine might be a really for sale now just got word that the wife is pregnant so mine would be on the market for around the 25k range that includes everything the 12v engine with a retro fitted 24v head for better air flow and nice set of twins capible of 70psi. If you are interested just let me know i can send pics.

I've got one too -- "Ram Burban"

I don't know how to post and am not trying to get off topic, BUT I'm the 3rd owner of a Bayer Auto "Ram Burban" conversion myself. Had it about 18 months. 1997 12v Cummins. Seatbelts for 8, 4:10 4wd 5-speed, gauges, F/R AC and heat. 160K miles. Trying to gauge interest and maybe selling myself, though I know I'd kick myself for the next 20 years if I do. Is $22K unreasonable? I see well-cared-for 12 valve trucks selling in mid to high teens, and tell myself the additional seating, legroom and cargo space must be worth $4-5K. I'm advertising in local Truck Trader and one specialty website, but not finding a lot of interest -- I think mainly because unless you've seen one, you just don't "get it"? I realize I've lost the "bed" and have to hook up to a trailer to haul most anything, but am I over–valuing the conversion? Any opinions appreciated. I don't know how to link my rig to my name, but it is under readers rigs, ALeavitt -- Alan's Ram Burban.
