I have a 1999 that still looks like new except for black moulding and linex sprayed liner. The side, tail gate and front bumper black moulding is faded looking and I have gotten some wax on it. What is best product to use to restore looks. Also my LineX bed liner is a dull almost grey color. What about a product that will restore short of re-spraying.

try black shoe polish........

on the black mouldings and mirrors if those are black also. It wont hurt the paint if you get any on it,it should wipe right off. Don't know about the spray in liner though, sorry. I found these hints here a while back and there maybe more in the archives.

Good luck Paul.

I use the same stuff on my mirrors, moundings, mudflaps, door handles, etc, as I use on my tires. Black Magic, it makes them black and shiny. ;)

Wipe it on with a sponge, let it set a few seconds, wipe off the excess.

I clean my Line-X bedliner with Simple Green and a good scrub brush.

Ditto on the Black Magic I believe it's made by Wessley's

I have the Rhino Liner and use Rhino Shine you could prolly use it on your liner. Doesn't Line-X sell a cleaner ?

Line-X has some kind of a spray-on shine/color restorer in a spray bottle that you can buy.

I didn't bother. :D I went out and bought a Perma-Tech dealership and sprayed their non-fading, total UV protected polyurethane coating right over the Line-X in my truck. Probably the most expensive way in history to get the shine back in a bedliner. :D

Lemon Pledge(no knockoffs... gotta be genuine Lemon Pledge) sprayed on a rag and wipe down the parts in question after every wash. Cheap, extremely effective, great bug remover for plastic parts, and no oily residue like some tire dressing-type products. Plus your truck will smell lemony fresh

I use it on all my bike windshields, and all the black plastic stuff on bikes, cars, and trucks as well as interiors of all my vehicles. Absolutely one of the best and most versatile detailing products I use.

I would recommend ZEP Tire and dash dressing... It is silicone-Based, and leaves an awesome shine!! try that out... . go to the ZEP Website, and look at it! It is definitely worth the $$$!!!! That's my $. 02 worth!!

Turtle Wax Company produces a product called "Black Chrome" it's inexpensive goes on with a piece of sponge in hand. I do my wheel wells, all the suspension componants and the "black" bumper steps. All Auto stores have it and any wax flash on your black stuff is gone in one pass.

i use the Meguiars vinal, trim, and wheel shiner/cleaner stuff on the trim and it works great! the only thing is that if you get any on the paint, it's a pain to wipe off.

I have heard the Black Chrome works good. I use STP Son Of A Gun, in the yellow bottle. Just wipe it on. It lasts for several washings.

harley-davidson makes stuff to make there black paint on the motor look like new and lasts longer than one wash it ain't cheap but it works good my 2 cents:D
