Might have to make a decision soon, looking to see what's out there. The truck they will go on is a 3500 SRW. I'm undecided between boards and bars. Thanks!

Some like the nerf bars but if you really want to protect the sides put running boards on. Nerf bars are no match for running bars on protecting the sides from rock chips. You no how easy this paint chips. Me I have Lonestar Running boards on mine. They are full length back to the rear tire. No drilling or welding. Basically they are a pair of nerf bars with expanded metal welded to the top of them. They were 400+. Do a search on here and you will a ideal what they look like.

These are my Putco 4"ss Boss bars. They are wheel to wheel and have the kick-out for the dually. I like the quality and construction of them, all one piece and very strong.

I've got plain old DeeZee diamond-tread boards on mine. Pics in my reader's rigs.



I put a set just like 'em on my father's 94 GMC. They look just as good today as they did when I put them on.

I'm using step boards made by Westin. One year and over 21k miles with zero chips and they also handle my 265 lb carcass with ease.

Nerf Bars

I bought a set of Westin powder coated bars and welded a 1/4 plate to the under side (with a few drain slots in it). I then had it sprayed with Line-X.



I have a 3000 ft gravel driveway and have been very happy with the protection so far.

Really nice rigs!

I have to include my wife on this because she needs the most help getting in, strapping in the kids, etc. I'm leaning towards boards and, RankRam, I like yours. One thing I need to know is what boards have a tread surface to the very back of the rear door? I saw an owens board in JCwhitney and you could see that the tread ends well before the end of the door. Looks like this would prevent you from standing with 2 feet planted standing in the doorway.

I have dully with full length Mopar boards. The full length is a huge help getting things out of the bed and it protects the paint on your 40K truck see my pics
