Shudder Help

I was slowing down off the express way last week and felt a pretty rough shudder. I took it in to the local shop and had the rear u-joints replaced(again) and the ball joints were also replaced. The mechanic said the front drive shaft had a little play but he didn't replace its' u-joints. Well $1900 in parts & labor later I still have the shudder. It happens at both acceleration and deceleration with the vibration at it's heaviest between 30-40mph. Does this sound like a possible torque converter issue. Any input would be greatly appreciated I want to get this fixed asap.
