That's it! I am tired of waiting for my EGT's to come down. I need a shutdown device. Looked on the Isspro website and thought the temperature shutdown device was way too steep so I started looking at the timers Ricers use and found they are around 100$. Anyway I could do a timer even cheaper myself but without the cool display. Any one that paid a reasonable $ for the Isspro model want to PM me with details I would appreciate it. Heck I found a dual circuit digital display with two adjustable setpoints from Murphy for less than the Isspro unit. I can whip up a circuit for the thing no problem I just need a device preferrably a temperature device to trigger the shutdown.

Thanks in advance

Turbo temp monitor

I got the ISSPRO unit and am happy w/it, I paid $116 shipped to my door, spent $25~ for wiring to install it.

Sounds good

Where did you buy it? I saw it listed for twice that plus on Isspro's site. Your price is in line with what I expect to pay. :)

Found it New Question on T-couple

Ok found the lower priced Isspro unit at the Diesel page. Now for the technical question. I think the idea is to monitor the Turbo temperature and not necessarily the EGT. If this is true would it be best to purchase a surface mounted Thermocouple and attach it directly to the Turbo itsef and use that for shutdown?

If Post turbo EGT's are important what is the best way to install a probe.

Assuming my surface mounted Thermocouple is the best way is there any "Preferred" location. I can get the T-couple thru Omega fairly cheap.

Thanks for the help
