Whats known about the Nv3500

Hey I am going to put the motor in my truck this weekend, I have been taking pics of the preliminarys and will post everything after i am done. {need my son to show me how] but i am wondering about the fuel shutoff, it has three wires i would think there would only be two, a power and a ground. What gives? Also i was loking at my new southbend clutch and there on the pressure plate is stamped LUK. whats up with that? Dana

The three wires are lift, hold, and ground. The wire for the lift needs to be heavy gauge, the lift function is a high amp draw short duration event. The hold function holds the plunger up while the key is in the run position, it is a much lower amp draw and you can use a lighter gauge wire. Hope that helps

SHHH!! you just exposed their proprietary vendor :-laf , along with the one Centerforce buys their pressure plates from and sticks their stupid weights and wire rings into. As with many other manufacturer's, you'll find they trade parts back and forth with one another under different model#'s. Luk's has alot of their stuff sold under other's names. Centerforce was the first I found with the Luk's stamping, I've yet to understand why Centerforce claims such a great advantage over others brands when several of their competitor's use Luk's parts. (but I guess Centerforce bullet proofed their box of snake oil with a nice coat of orange paint and a few chunk's of square weights

In defense of Luk's, I have had no problems with Luk's clutch products yet. I have used them in several trucks before which are still running them as far as I know, )they've been sold, but I still talk to the current owners. Don't second guess the clutch you have based on the tag, they are spec'ed by HP as to which unit they sell. Just make sure you ordered the corresponding HP disc for your truck's rating if its bomb'ed.
