Lately I’ve noticed that when I jump on the throttle the truck does this shuttering thing. It’s not an engine shutter but more like it’s coming from the transmission. Could it be the transmission/torque converter?

Sounds like maybe your turbo is barking. Does it happen when you back out of the throttle?

he said jumps on throttle. yes as said check the carrier and the rear u-joint. also to ask do you feel it in your hands/steering wheel. or on your seat/butt or shudder on the floor/feet. does it happen at low rpm or at a certain rpm only.

I guess I feel the shutter mostly in the seat. I'll check the carrier and the u-joint. Those are both good suggestions.

Thanks for all of the responses.

If it is happening between 45 and 65 mph it is probably the torque converter clutch chattering. On the 99 I had it felt like you were running over a mild rub board road when it would slip. bg
