Side mirror loose & needs tightening

Finally signed up and have my first question.

Does anyone have a fix for a loose side mirror. Mine is getting very sloppy and is really getting on my nerves. Is there an adjustment that can be made to fix this problem? It's the chrome electric adjusting mirror.

KLRRAM==Welcome aboard Mr. undervalved! The inside door panel has to come off, then you can get at the mounting hardware for the mirrors. It helps a bunch if you have a service & repair manual-(DC), to do this. I would also use loctite or equivilent on the bolts, just pull 'em out one at a time, clean the threads, a drop or two on the threads, and re-install them. Be real careful when you tighten them up, torque to specs, as you can "crush" the inner and outer panels together real easy.

There are repair/rebuild kits available through your local DC dealer for your loose mirrors. They are designed to fix the loose mirror problem and include all new and improved bushings, screws, clamps, etc. They come with instructions and are easy to follow.
