I have a 2003 that has the "Painted Side Molding" that is looking bad. I want to remove the molding but I am not sure how to do it. I realize that it is stuck on with molding tape, but is that all? And how do you get it off after being on there all this time, and not make a mess of the paint? I am thinking about getting the chrome molding from Geno's.

Use some fishing line to "saw" through molding tape, then go to the hardware store and buy some adhesive remover and use a cotton cloth to wip all the goo off. Works well and doesn't leave a scratch.

Fishing line will work. So will dental floss. The wax in the dental floss helps it slide through the sticky spots. It helps to wrap the floss around a couple of pencils.

I like the look of the chrome moldings too. I just wish there was a nice looking chrome kit for the trailer towing mirrors. I would be nice to have the door handles, mirrors and molding to tie the look together. Does anyone have a source for the mirror covers?

The fishing line works real well, I wrap it around a couple of handles as well, but also I use my wife's hair dryer to heat up the sticky tape and speed up the job. Still have to use adhesive remover.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. I can see how all of these ideas would work well! I knew that if I posted my problem I would get some great ideas.

Thanks again:)
