Who's nitrous system and why?

Anyone running side pipes. Would they be louder than a straight piped out the back truck? Like the idea of stacks but don't want to dirty the cieling of my nice clean garage:) My straight piped truck is a bit loud for my young son, he can't hear The Elmo DVD on my laptop and he lets me know on long trips by getting very fussy. Anyway before building a quieter 4" system I wanted to explore all options

Thanks

There is a truck around here that has side pipes. It sounds the same as it would out the back from out side. Inside I dont know I would think it would be loader since it is right there. A set of head phones are cheep these days.

I had some on my 98 for about a week. I didn't get them long enough so they dumped right at the back of the cab. They were way louder in the cab than what I had (stock downpipe, 3" Y, dual 3" out the back, 5" tips). If the pipes had gone all the way back to the tires, it may not have been as bad. I hadn't given side pipes a consideration for my 04 until this thread. The Cannonball Express had 6" side pipes that looked pretty cool. I'll have to give it some thought.

There was a nice dually at TiM with side pipes. Looked rel good. They came out right behind the front tire with what looked like a five inch turn out stack running all the way to just in front of the back tire. Didn't get to hear it run but it looked sweet.

Here's a picture of the side pipes as seen in Muncie. I didn't get a real good listen to them but I'd have to say it would probably be similar to having stacks.

I have heard the above truck at Purdue. Sounds good. Didnt seem quite as loud as mine. I did hear him leave, and sounded more like a 12V
