When I run my side windows up or down they sound like the glass is going to break. Is there a adjustment or do I need to change the channels.

97 stock,

Pull off the inside door panel and make sure the window regulator is aligned right. Your inside door panel should have two screws and plastic door pins.

I can't answer that because my experience with these problems was gained as a mechanic at a local Dodge dealer. I would say that on your way to the dealership, try NAPA and other parts stores on the way. I will tell you one thing I know from becoming friends w/the parts manager at that same dealership. Whatever they charge you at the dealership is 70-100% over what they paid for it, so, knowing that may give you some bargaining power when and if you have to go to the dealership for anything.

Thanks, I may try a junk yard, probably interchangeable with other models

mine is 2500. Part is a small nylon bushing that fits on he ball in the track.

I fixed a 1500 a couple of weeks ago which had the same problem. The slides are not serviced- they want you to buy an entire regulator assembly.

Back in the late '60's or early '70's, Chrysler used a square nylon slide. The center hole is the correct size for the ball on the end of the regulator arm. I found a couple of the old slides in my junk box & ground them down to the correct height with a belt sander. Worked perfectly.

If you can find an auto glass shop which has been in business a long time, they may have the slides you need- shouldn't be more than a buck or so each. I'll see if I can come up with a part number & post it.
