Gents,
My lady friend left for Vegas a couple days ago, leaving me her new (to her) 96 1500 Sierra with a 305 TBI. Well, she is asking me fix some gremlins in the elec system.
First off, the truck has cab lights that dont work. When I pulled them off, they didnt even have the wires attached. Solderless connecters were there, but the wires were not connected. I connected them, nothing. Ideas? I cant trace the wires all the way to the engine bay... . I am lost.
Second, the power door locks. I get one, yes ONE chance to use them. They will lock or unlock only once. Then I must let the truck sit for a hour or more (running or not) and all the sudden, I get another chance. WTF???
I havent ever seen this before... ... .
Third and finally, the interior cab lights. I have the personal spot lights working for the sides on front and back, but the main cab lights do not work. Could this be a issue with the plunger switch on either side of the dash and in the rear door frames?
A little FYI, the fuses are fine, all of them. It seems as though this truck was a hoodlums toy who thought he/she could add extras and didnt know what they were doing. I would really like to have this beast fixed before she comes home, so anybody got some ideas? Thanks in advance... .
Kind Regards,
John
