I'm the new kid on the block and been checking out the site for some time. I was just wondering the pro's and con's of removing the ring. Any Instructions on how to do it would be greatly appreciate it. . Thanks to all for the valuable info you guys post. Hope to be of assistance in the future.

Mine is out and its NEVER going back in again, EVER! I love the sound of it, wife dont like it much but she dont drive the truck 4k/ month, I do..... Its really easy to remove, I know nothing about doing my own bombing etc, but i did remove the ring.

Just take off the hose to the turbo, you will see a snap ring holding in a round looking ring that looks like the drip pans on a electric stove. Get 2 flat head screw drivers and pry off the ring and the silencer ring will just fall out. Then thats it your done, put hose back on the giver!

Ps. I use K & N with mine and its much better IMO.

Thanks for the info. I just removed mine. Could barely hear any difference. But my ears are bad from shooting without ear protection.

tahnks for the info but i'm still not sure wwhat to take out. is it the snap ring thats almost the same size as the inlet tube? after i take that out, do i take anything else out? thanks for the info, i'm a little confused!!

Ramhead when you take that snap ring the "funel looking thing" will come out also. bolt the tubing back together and enjoy. . The wife and I went out tonight and I have to say there is a difference in sound. . I guess my ears are not that bad after all.

Sounds kool to some, sound like high pitch hearing damage in the making to others w/ no performance effects. That is why it is a silencer ring.

Sounds even better with a K&N RE-0880. Mext I will get the Scotty air set up.

Yes you will notice a HUGE difference if you put in a K&N air filter. It just proves that a K&N sucks alot more air in than a stock air filter. When I clean my K&N, I put back in the factory paper filter for a day while my K&N is drying, and I feel sorry for my truck because its "starving" for air. I can notice the turbo spool up is not near as good, and the tubo whine is much quieter. Let me know when you get the difference.
