Silencer ring?

What is a silencer ring and what happens when you remove it? Where is it?

Take the the intake hose off the front of the turbo, and there she site, right inside. IT is simply a muffler for your turbo, serves no other purpose. Removing it will make it wine more. Hey, will you pm me and tell me more about the fluid you got from Mercruiser, thanks man.
