I have NO idea what that gadget is, or does - what appears to be the cannon on the tank looks sorta strange too - not sure exactly what all that hardware is designed for. But I sure wouldn't want to spend too much time in FRONTof it! :-laf

Thats a self propelled Howitzer... not just a "tank". 155mm cannon.

I used to haul them on my flatbed when I was in the Norwegian army. We called them M-109 and they got a sweet sounding Detroit 2-stroke V8. Just like jwilliams3 said it's not a "tank" but a self propelled artiliry. Very little armor and narrow tracks so they don't do too well in heavy terrain. Never saw a silencer though. That's neat
