I wrote an email to <patrick@spatechnique.com>, (Patrick) whose web address I got from this forum. I have a 12V and would like one of those nice hose kits he sells to the 24V guys. Here was his reply:

"At this time we do not have any plans to produce the kit you are looking for. But if we could get a few people needing them, then we would certainly look in to having them made. "

Shoot this guy an email and see if we can get him to make some for us... Here's another copy of his site address:

Aren't these the same hoses that some members are having problems with now currently???. If I am correct weren't they just blowing apart???

Are these not the same hoses that the guys who installed them on their 24valvers are having them blow apart??. Just curious.....

I'm not aware of any problem with them blowing apart.

The problem has been fitment. My passenger side lower intercooler hose doesn't fit, the hump hoses are two short, and there needs to be TWO ninety degree heater hoses..... if you try to bend a straight piece it puts a crimp in the hose. Brandon Fenley agrees with me and he and I have been emailing and communicating with Patrick at SPA. Brandon has recently installed a "revised" kit and says they are good to go. Patrick told me two weeks ago my new kit would be shipped shortly. BTW, this has been going on since November. The mfg is in Great Britain and they have not been very responsive to problems with our "little" order. I do not feel that SPA has been part of the problem... . they have been sympathetic and forthcoming. I'm not sure how many other's have purchased kits and are unhappy, but I'm hopeful this pathetic episode may soon be over.

Otherwise, the rest of my kit and clamps are on the truck. Quality of both is excellent. BTW, for those of you who are anal about your engine compartment, you should know that silicone is like a magnet for dust, and the only way to get if off is with a wet cloth... . dry wiping just smears it. It's amazing how quickly they get a coating even in our wet and rainy NW weather.

I appreciate the correction and was mislead, thanks.

Now whats up with this deal????...

" BTW, for those of you who are anal about your engine compartment, you should know that silicone is like a magnet for dust, and the only way to get if off is with a wet cloth... . "

I don't know about that,I call it appreciation of a fine ride. If they collect that much dust and with the amount of time I spend detailing under the hood it would create alot more work.

Its a shame the cost is so outrageous. I understand the defects in workmanship but how could or did they manage that with a stock set to go by for measurement and their lack of customer service is a concern to all. I'd certainly like to have a set for my 12 valver but to buy a complete new stock set and send it to them for copying and then to have to spend near twice that amount to buy the silicone for any of us to get them is nuts. Why do they need a commitment for a large order when we alll know once out and available they will catch on and sell. Just my . 02... ...

I dont know about silicone, but Piers has intercooler hoses that are twice as strong as stock, cost almost 1/2 as much, and fit real nice. Can be sold as individuals or as a complete kit with some cool spring clamps.

I just ordered the kit from Piers today after reading this thread. I had not realized the silicon kits were for the 24V. Fancy is nice but practical works better for me. Thanks for the lead SlyBones.

Differences

What (if any) are the differences hose-wise for the 12V and 24V. I compared my 12V to a 24V, and the charge air tubes & radiator hoses look the same or very close...

Does anyone have good info on this? The only thing I noticed was that the 24V upper rad hose looks maybe 1" shorter at the engine...
