Well guys after about four months of waiting and a couple days of work I am happy to announce that the silicone hose kits are available for 2001 trucks. The kits include all four hoses for the turbo to intercooler connections as well as the upper/lower radiator hoses and the two heater hoses. The kit can be ordered through SPA Technique at any time. Contact information and some pics of other hose kits can be seen at www.spatechnique.com Contact either Patrick Lynch (patrick@spatechnique.com) or Dave (dave@spatechnique.com) to order the kits. I have decided not to post the price but the original guess on price (follow the link bellow to the post) is very close to the actual price. PM me if you want an exact price.

Also available is a stainless steel clamp kit consisting of all the clamps needed to install the hose kit, see www.spatechnique.com/hose_clamps.html for info on the clamps. I can tell you that these are some very nice clamps and are in use on some high performance pulling trucks. The price has not been set because I had to return some of the clamps because they where just a bit too small for the application. Patrick or Dave will be able to give you the price in a week or so once my returned clamps get to them and they sort out the final sizes. I will add that the clamps are not necessary, but they sure are nice and much stronger than the OEM clamps.

I have some pics of the install and some comparison pics between the OEM hoses/clamps and the SPA hoses/clamps, unfortunately I left my camera at home and well not get the pics posted for about two weeks. There are some pics of the kit as I received it here and here is a post about the kits with some good info. I can help with any install questions but it is fairly straight foreword. I will tell you that a set of hose clamp pliers (as mentioned in the TDR article about changing the radiator fluid) are very useful and a great addition to any toolbox. I got mine at Napa for $20 and I can’t remember the correct part #.

As a final note and disclaimer I have to mention that I have no financial interest in SPA. I simply did some inital legwork and the fit testing of the kit in return for some very nice hoses for my truck. I can answer any questions about install, but all pricing and ordeing well be done through SPA.

One final side note for John (not me the other John in WA) the yellow colors are available, contact SPA for a sample of the hose :D

Many thanks, John....

I ordered mine today, but I'm already on a waiting list.

Looks like the mfg. is SfS performance and they have been making kits for the ricers, so they must know what they're doing?

Did you have ANY concerns over the quality and fit on your install? I doubt this is the type of situation where there needs to be "testing" to work out bugs, but just wondering.

thanks... .

No problems at all with the install. The hoses seem WAY better than the OEM set. They are thicker, less pliable and darn good looking. I hope you all like them.

Right now I would have to say yes. I am just not sure if the upper radiator hose is the same on the older trucks. I still have to compare the hose I took off my truck to a 98. 5-2000 and a 2002. It sounds easy and if someone is at a TDR gathering in the next few days that can tell me if all the upper radiatior hoses are the same then we could open it up a bit.

John

So the what you are saying is the kits will be only available to the newer 24 valvers and none are available for us 12 valvers?????,,This would be a real bummer... ... ... . Andy

Andy (and all the other 12v guys out there) - If you want to buy a complete set of OEM hoses and send them off to Patrick at SPA I am fairly sure he would have a set made for you. I did one for the 24v truccks because that is what I have. It would be hard for me to fit test hoses on trucks I don't have.

Okay here is a pic of some color samples, including YELLOW for

John.

Are these hoses supposed to last a lifetime? They are absolutely gorgous, but if the price is between $415 and $425 without the clamps:eek:  , I won't won't be buying them.

Here is a shocker for you... . buy a set of OEM hoses that go from the turbo to the intake air horn and see what you pay.

Okay I will tell you what you will pay... .

The two straight hoses are $50 each, the two 90 degree hoses are $180 each  and the only place to get them is Dodge. So with that you have spent $460. Now if you send that $ to SPA you could get free two free radiator hoses and two free heater hoses and probably a $20 bill back. That along with having the benifit of having better quality hoses and cool looks... . :D

A couple of pics of the hoses installed

AWESOME! :D

Now that I'm under the umbrella of a new contract (at work) for the next 3 years, I can part with some money I saved for a set of these bad boys!

My only problem is...

which color to go with!:eek::eek:

Also...

There have been some changes...

1) silver (pictured on page 1 of this thread) has been discontinued :(

2) there is no yellow per se, it's florescent yellow and apparently there is no real life color sample of this color however, Patrick Lynch of SPA said he would send me an accurate color pic.

Just a heads up. :D

Thought I would let everyone know that I checked a 98. 5 today and the hoses will fit just fine. I would guess that they will fit all the trucks but hope to do some more comparing this week as I run into guys with the correct trucks.
