The silicone hose is available anywhere that sells silicone coolant hose. Unless you are making a "hump hose" (???) Silicone coolant hose is available in darn near any (I. D. ) size and any length. That's what I have on my truck's intake system.



Are you making something other than what silicone coolant hose is?



BTW, If you have not already recieved one, a notice (may) be on it's way from the TRD administration or the moderator as your skirting the bounds of an advertisement. I encountered that problem when I simply informed a member that I'd help him in the repair of his VE pump. You have to step lightlywhen it comes to telling "us folks" about a product or a service you offer. Consider this a friendly warning from a fellow member who has been there and got the t-shirt.

Hey Greenleaf, it sounds as if he is having pre-molded silicone hoses made for the cooling system. Sounds like a good idea to me. On the over-stepping the boundaries deal, if we were to pay cost for the parts I would think it would be fine. If he is making money on the deal then yes, it should be in the classifieds or vendor area. Mysteryman, I think you are doing good trying to make parts available to keep these trucks on the road. If in fact you are making some money on the deal, ya might want to put it in a different section just to stay in good with the powers that be. Right or wrong, I've said my piece

I was speaking of the upper and lower molded radiator and vacuum hoses.

I deleted the post after you pointing out the mistake. It would be ashame to post too much information or offer to help anyone or save them any money.

Thanks for the tip just the same though. stay in touch. I would like to hear about you VE pump adventures off the site. I sure had my share of them . We had some serious failures under warrantee way back when

Mysteryman,,,,,,that wasn't really called for... the guys are correct on using caution regarding the posting of things of this nature. In here, most get a pretty fair "hearing" and even handed dealing with the mod's.

No one, and I mean NO ONE is going to chastise you for trying to help out a member, save a member money or any other motivation of that nature.



At this time there are some things going on to make it even easier to have a member post something that is the result of a 'basement' project or workshop product. It will be a much simpler/simplified process and we'll be allowed to post a one time "here's what I've got/am doing"... .

This is being worked on for the very reason we are posting here... . to help out the basement warrior/mechanic/inventor when they find an idea or product that will help out the members... . that, in my opinion is forward, proactive thinking.



The single most effective way to do this sort of thing at present is to put up a post saying "... I've got this thing/idea and I've posted it in the "XYZ" forum... here is the link.

That way you are not doing anything that can be construed as advertising/promoting/cheerleading etc etc.....



Since I've been mod on the this forum I've only had a couple situations that sort of came under this heading and they were ALL dealt with smoothly and with no ill-will and, I think this will fit right into that same catagory.



In closing I'll do what I've done in the past... . I'll let this thead stand for a day or two during which time I'd ask that you post or open a thread in the appropriate forum and leave a link to it in your first post on your hose idea.

I don't have a problem with that, but after couple days I will close the thread to further posting so as to treat everyone the same... to the best of my ability.
