With the same powerful, reliable Vortec 5300 engine as the conventional Silverado, the Hybrid model boosts estimated city fuel economy by 2MPG with no loss in power. †

Starting at "only" $30,345. Talk about a complicated setup for such a small fuel-saving benefit. It seems to me that GM would be better off installing diesels in their half-ton trucks than this hybrid experiment.
