With 255/75's and a KORE Pace, do I need dual stablilizers? What is the benefit of duals? My old one is pretty tired and I'll be looking for a replacement. I've seen folks recommend Skyjackers and Ranchos. Any pros or cons? I did a search but didn't find anything specifically explaining the main differences between duals and single. TIA
I don't know if duals are needed or not. My 97 3500 had 2 seperate stabilizer shocks mounted on the tie rod so I just replaced them with 2 Rancho stabilizers.
I've seen TSB's on 94-96 (I think . . from memory) that added a 2nd one to help with the front end death wobble problem that these trucks are plagued with, but it never mentioned 97. Someone added it, I guess, to my truck. The TSB had PN's for the bracket etc. . I think it was on the
www.dodgeram.org site under TSB's and front end. I've had the rancho's on for 3-4 months and also I replaced shocks (Bilstein) control arm bushings (Energy Suspension poly), sway bar end links, sway bar bushings(Energy Suspension poly), Track bar bushing and Lukes Link, 6 BFG KO's and the front end was really tight till now. The death wobble is back. Haven't crawled under the beast yet to check for loose bolts etc.
I believe the 2 stabilizers helped tighten the steering. Mine were not duals (side by side) but two seperately mounted stabilizers. I have seen a dual bracket setup available tho.
I hope someday to end the death wobble. Now the power steering box is leaking and probably the shaft (with my luck) is bad. I just keep throwing money at the truck... It's a money pit. It's still my baby tho... Love the Cummins.
I'd like to go for the KORE suspension but can't shell out the bucks yet. How do you like the KORE setup?
Good luck.
