Exhaust brake smoke

I was wondering, those of you with single turbos and an external wastegate mounted up... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Did you route the excess to the atmosphere or back into the exhaust downpipe... ... and why? I know where I would route it if I had two turbos but that doesn't look to be a reality anytime soon. Need to get some relief for my Kwikspool B1.

Thanks

Route it and flange it in where the exhaust straightens out... . i am sure BBD will chime in with his pics... . mine is the same way.

The why part for me is, it sounds like crap when it goes to the atmosphere. I have a real sleeper on the street... just don't want to draw any more attention than a 7000lb truck running down a 911 turbo or devouring a Z06 or a Viper.

Kat,

I have mine venting to atmosphere. I had a piece bent up at the local muffler shop so it blew down at the ground. Very easy and simple. Without the piece on it was noticably loud to me in the cab. Now I can barely hear it over the exhaust. It may be a bit much if you were to have a quiet truck. DRAG DIESEL is right though people do notice it, I lost my sleeper look a long time ago. I actually sorta like the sound. I have the setup that PDR sells with the Extreme w/g, it works great, so great my dad went and bought one for his 12valve. I have mine to control my Dodgezilla, but am planning on building twins which is the main reason for buying it. Heres a few pics. One of the wastegate itself and one that you can see where my pipe dumps it.
