I've been away from the TDR for 5 or more years, long story, and have gotten my '97 driving again. I had lots of work done back when I was active but you can see from my signature that the engine is fairly well upgraded but I'm waay overfilled/under aired with stock turbo with waste gate essentially disabled and I quickly see 45 psi boost with EGT spiking and more smoke than I want.

I need more air but I can't afford twins right now. What single would control my EGT and burn most of the fuel (yeah, I'll slide the plate back) giving me the power the engine is already capable of producing? I have clutch and larger flywheel for up to 550 hp and larger input shaft in NV-4500 with 5th gear ring fix.

I'm well aware that "search is my friend" but I'm already bleary eyed sorting through threads that almost tell me what I'm looking for, but don't.

thanks in advance!

Great advice! Thank you very much!

I did the online chat and it came down to HX Super 9 (60/67/9 by my estimation) if I expected to tow more than 10,000 lbs and Aggressor 62/65/14 for street performance and adaptability to compounds if I win the lottery.

Is anyone familiar with either of these and have some advice?

BD Super B with the 4" downpipe.
+1
I have similar mods as OP. This Turbo greatly improved drivability.
All my truck does is pull a 12k lb trailer. With HX35 I could not use cruise control and had to down shift for small hills due to high EGT’s.
With Super B I can use cruise in any normal flat lands and I can leave it in sixth gear for rolling hills.
