Last AAA call of the night... 57' Bel Air Drop Top. Stuck in a Showmars parking lot because the starter wiggled out of the bell housing. I had to hold back my smart mouth comments about Chevys while this older gentleman was running his telling me how he thinks I should do my job.
He wanted to push it out the space with my truck blocking a one way entrance into the shopping center behind the restaurant. And down the hill of the parking lot onto the bed of my Hino. His reasoning was that it would be fine since the restaurant was closing and easier using the hill to move it.
"No sir, we're going to load this my way"
Hino positioned and extended off the right side of the picture using all the space in the now empty Showmars parking lot without being disturbed. Snatch block in my rear right bed corner and full left lock on the steering wheel. Pulled it in till the angle was too sharp, locked the wheel the other way and rolled it out. Lock to the left again to pull it out into the open. Disconnect, reposition and extend the bed. Straight pull up, no damages.
The older gentleman seemed to scoff and take offense when I asked prior to arriving after looking at my call details if the vehicle was lowered or modified. I thought it was a fair question given the age and model.
"Well what difference would it make if it was or not?"
"Because I might not be able to load it on my rollback"
