My father in law is trying to use one of those Sirius portable units (the ones that look radar detectors) in his First Gen. The problem that he is having is that that he can't find a clear FM station that it can broadcast too without having a bunch of other stuff bleed over onto it. Any ideas? I figure they sold a bunch of these so there must be a solution. I emailed Sirius customer service a few days ago and nothing yet.

FM Modulator

Vic- I installed an FM modulator in-line to the radio for my Sirius. Sometimes you have to hunt for a good frequency to use in your area. I use 107. 1 and it works well most of the time, but if I'm goin' cross country sometimes I have to change the setting due to the signal strength in other localities. Bruce

also the closer you mount it the better the signal, I used to have mine mounted near the a-pillar and I would have to change frequency often, I now have it mounted in the ashtray and on my trip to Phoenix and back I only had to change once.
