Hello all, just curious where everyone that has one of these mounts it, and where to route the wires, I'm not happy with anything I come up with, so right now it's above my rear-view attached to the windshield with suction cup, and the wires just hanging straight down to the cubby. I hate it!

Thanks!!

I mounted my sportster bracket to the overhead console with short stainless steel screws. I routed the power along the window, down the A-pillar and under the dash. The antenna pops out of the cab rear light and runs above the head liner up to the overhead console. I had to make a 3/8" hole for the wire to come out and and plug into sirius radio. Looks very neat but if you are driving you can't really change the channels, short of just up or down, safely.

I use it in the trailer, too, so I just have the antenna on the dash and the unit on the seat or in a cup holder on our drive south and back.

For a PnP I think a Pro-fit mount would do well or depending on what style of PnP you have you may want a PanaVise mount like this one

Not sure what PnP you have but most have the industry wide “AMPS” pattern on the back so they will bolt right to these mounts.

From here you can drill a small hole in that little plastic plate by the trash bag hook to run your 12v cable and hard wire it behind the dash into your cig lighter circuit.

Do you use the FM modulator or cassette adapter? Hardwire adapters are available to get rid of the cassette and sound better than running through FM modulators IMO.

I have is a cd player, so I use the fm. Is there a way I can hard wire my player? It is a Starmate player and my truck radio is the RBQ model.

Hard wire is easy with one of these.

You just plug that box into the back of your RBQ's aux output port and then the box into your Starmate as long as the starmate has an output for hard wire which if I remember does. You then choose Sat Radio by pressing your mode button. Won't work if you have an external c/d player.

Thanks for the fast reply. Yes the starmate will work with the RCA plug. I have it pluged into my home stereo. The sound is much better than using Fm. I also saw the link for the P. I. E it looks like that is the way to go,but under the heading compatibly info they say the CHRT02 AUX is not compatible with in dash 6-disc RBQ radio.

Thanks All!!!

Appreciate the info.

JHByers... is your power cord long enough for your method, or did you get a longer one? That's the ony one I can't figure how to route well.

I have a SIR-PNP3 and I have a RAZ head unit. I used a USA SPEC aux interface which I got from Crutchfield. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-Z8QEJ1hYRcM/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?i=581DFCHR&search=df-chr I also used a Pro. Fit DG-70-02

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-vqfL1M4ZJOd/cgi-bin/ProdGroup.asp?g=251850&avf=Y

to mount it. I ran everthing behind the dash and the antenna out the 3rd brake light.

I don't have any pics. My is truck at dealership wright now have to go pick it up. If you want, I can take some and try to put them on here.

The one drawback I have with it is, that you have to change the FM channels on long trips because of overlap with local FM stations... ... ... . sounds like that will take care of it.

Thats odd because I know that deck has an aux port. I have that deck and plugged in the XM direct product to the back one time while demoing the product. Might want to give them a call, maybe they have a different model adapter for the RBQ 6 disc.

I mounted my sirius on the dash between the gear shifter and the radio, and routed the antenna wire through the headliner and out through the rear light above the bed. I hope this helps. There is enough room to still use the radio and the shifter.

Jaysyl-

That aux devise RDedrick posted a link to looks slick because you can connect more than one devise should you want to add something more later like an ipod, price is right too.

If you use the adapter mentioned above, I believe you have to use a sirius or xm unit made for a direct connection, Question is in that case is it powerd by the radio, I would think not

CMullen, which adapter are you talking about? If it is USA SPEC, you just plug it into the back of the radio and thats it. The cable that plugs into the radio also has a short end to plug into a cd changer.
