Hi - I have an Infinity 7 speaker am-fm cassette tape cd player radio. I would like to hook up the sirius satellite system--Sirius tells me I need the ESN # from dealer and all 03 Dodge radios are compatible for Sirius systems. Dealer says I don't have the right radio even tho it shows it in my owner's manual and a Dodge brochure. This radio was a $750 option sales code RAZ. Can anyone help?? Have 03 quad cab SLT 40/20/40 power seats, ETH, DEE, 373 limited slip, 2wd, Jake brake, b/d short shift, power trlr towing mirrors, trailer tow group.

Thanks

RAZ should support if just fine, unless you have an older-level radio which doesn't have the software needed to control the Sirius tuner.

Yellow jacket, Do you have the satellite radio? The ESN should be in the package or on the package the radio comes in. If not, instructions might be in the manual that came with the radio already in your truck. In my case, I have the navigation radio and needed an ESN to make my satellite radio work. DIESELMAN told me how to get the ESN from the satellite to my nav screen. Then I called Sirius with the ESN and my satellite radio has worked ever since. You'll love it.

You might want to read my thread on the subject.

You have to add the Sirrus Sat receiver to your package. It plugs in to the Aux plug on the back of the radio. I don't remember the prices but I think the sat receiver is $185 and the install kit (cabling and Sat antenna) is $135. The antenna requires a hole to be drilled in the roof. The directions call for it to be on the roof centerline just above the third (center mounted) brake light. The receiver is controlled by your radio. I can tell you it is money well spent. I never listen to CDs or the radio anymore. :)

I'm not sure if Paul Harvey is on Sirius or not. Sirius has lots of news and talk channels both for liberal and conservative listeners. Music is one of the big things for most listeners that I know. You can listen to the TYPE of music you like. Also sports channels and entertainment channels among others. Once you have it you'll never be without it again.

The cost I think is 12. 50 per month but if you pay by the year you get one month free.

You don't have to saw a 3/4 inch hole in you roof if you don't want to. There are many antennas available that will work with the radio. If you live in a large city you can get a good signal just by mounting the antenna on the dash between the wiper blades. Reason for that is there about 500 towers located in and around big cities that relay the signal form the sat to the receiver. There are also suction cup antennas that mount in various places and many other types of antennas. I mounted my antenna on the hood, looks cool. Didn't think twice about sawing a hole in the hood. (That's not really true) Now that I've done it though, I would do it again without thinking twice.

If you will go up 3 or 4 post on this thread and click on "here" in my post you will bring up the thread that I started on the Sirius Radio. Lot's of good information there.
