sirius radio DEAD!

Bought a new 2003 yesterday and had the sirius radio installed for free as per the latest deal. Radio was great on the 6 hour ride home from the dealer. Got home and turned the key off to listen to the end of a old time radio program. No radio on accessory or with the key on. Didn't think much about it cause it was late. Got up this morning and went out, started the truck and still no sirius. Am and Fm work fine. Sirius just shows channel 133 no tuning, no scanning, no presets work on sirius. Called sirius and they resent the activation but still nothing. Any ideas? Damn disappointing to have something quit in the first 6 hours! BTW had shut the truck on several times on the way home. Also have the cd and cassette radio. Any help will be appreaciated.

How long does this promotion run? What are the qualifications to receive this promotion?

You have to take delivery of a new 2003 or 2004 vehicle by Monday. That is all as far as I know. They will put in the sirius receiver and antenna and you get a "lifetime subscription" to sirius (whatever that means! The dealer did not know for sure).

Well, that leaves me out. My truck is not due to arrive at the dealer till 12/22.

I checked the Sirius website and "lifetime'

subscription means lifetime of the radio.

In my case I would have to transfer existing factory radio in 2003 Ram to a new truck of the future.

Not to feasible!

I would go with portable unit and lifetime

sub. in order to take advantage of this.

Do you know that the sirius radio and the truck radio must be set to a certain setting ( I think it's 87. 9 or ?) so sirius can be heard through truck stereo

With the Dodge Sirius receiver, you don't have to do the ol' 87. 9 radio thing, it's a real digital feed and sounds a ton better. The only time that you have to do the 87. 9 thing is when a device is basically broadcasting a signal or re-broadcasting it after converting it.



It's similiar to the channel 3/4 on a VCR. On the Dodge Head-Units that are capable of the Sirius connection you just hit the "mode" button and change to it as the source. If this is an aftermarket Sirius receiver, then you are correct; there would be a 87. 9 channel or similiar.

I would stay away from the modulator

type systems. (not digital)
