Sirius radios - ya learn something new every day!

My Sirius radio stopped working all of a sudden. It was flashing a "no signal" message, and would not respond to controls from the head unit. Luckily, my truck is still under warranty so I called my dealer to schedule a day for them to do the H46 recall (my truck is not affected) and repair/replace the Sirius receiver (or the antennae or whatever the problem was)... .



The service manager stopped me in mid sentence and recommended I call Sirius service first to see if they can do a download of some sort to my receiver to revive it. I was a tad skeptical but I called Sirius and sure enough they had it working again in just a few minutes. Turns out that most dead receivers are actually OK and just need a new download from Sirius.



I went from perturbed to pleased very quickly!!:-laf Good on my dealership (Keene Dodge in Md) for saving me the time and hassle. I stopped by there and they took a quick glance under the front of my truck and I was on my way.



Hope this helps someone with a similar issue... .

I had that happen to my truck last summer. It couldn't have taken the Sirius tech more than 5 min. to get it back in working order.

Maybe that is what is wrong with my F. I. L's truck. Switch to Sirius and the cahnnel is stuck on 118 and blinks. It won't do a single thing.

Every other part of the radio works fine. I. E... CD and AM/FM

Yep, sounds exactly like the way mine was acting. I'd be surprised if Sirius couldn't get it fixed for him.

Tell him to call Sirius - that's exactly what mine was doing. It literally took 5 minutes total.

My wife's satellite radio in the 08 Chrysler T&C stopped working.

It was 3 months before the "free" 12 months was supposed to end.

Some ratbastid at the dealer started the subscription 3 months before we bought the car.

Rather than go to the dealer (Sirius said to) I just decided to forget about it.

There are enough things nowadays that annoy me. Why add to it.
