Trace complete

Strange thing is it is taking WAY longer for me to read posts and retrieve things. Is it just me or is anyone else having a hard time??

Click on the link at the top of the forums regarding the search index rebuild. The server has been working basically non-stop rebuilding the search index for the last 43 hours. It's going through every single post ever made and putting all words 3 letters or larger into a search index - that will be a 256mb file when it's done. Whenever I'm doing major stuff like this I always put an announcement at the top of the forums. Before this new server doing this would crash the entire website and it would have to be taken off-line and even then it would crash throughout the process. With this server I've been able to leave the site up and have it running at the same time - albeit with some performance issues, but it's better than nothing.

I had read the post about the rebuild but didn't connect it to the site being slow  . Silly me... .....

Thanks for the Good Work Steve. I guess since the move to the new facility and server upgrades, we've gotten pretty used to the high speed performance ;) .
