Site Outage

Due to a runaway program eating up disk space on the TDR directory mount, the TDR site went down for about 3 hours this evening.

The main site was back up after an hour and the boards after 3 hours.

Unfortunately, some posts may have been lost. The problem has been resolved so it should not happen again.

I was brave enough (or foolish enough) to renew my subscription to the TDR ONLINE during the outage. I wonder if my renewal was among the "lost" items???

Renewals were not lost. They are stored using 2048-bit (high strength military level) encryption on a different mount point that was not effected. Each of the major sections of the system is mounted seperately to prevent system-wide problems.

There are more than 3 hours worth of posts missing. The last post in towing/hauling shows about Midnight Tuesday. All of yesterdays are gone.

I didn't say 3 hours of posts were lost. Rather, the system was down for 3 hours. I rebuilt the UBB databases from the backup mount. Let's move on, nothing that can be done about it now..... #ad
