I got this code a week ago and cleared, turned the six gun down to 1 as Banks suggested. Today, next time drove, in 10 miles stumbled twice and light back on. Did you guys actually remove the unit? Dealers says it is the six gun, Banks says it is a dealer issue, so now it is my issue! #1 position is supposed to be off, according to Banks. After light comes on, runs with no stumble. There is a ton of electronics in the six gun. Also get the 0602 code that does not throw a light, dealer said not to worry on that one. This is getting old, already, on this new to me truck. Thanks fellas, Tim

I purchased an 03 recently and it has a Banks 6 gun and the Banks brake, the brake didn't work until yesterday when I found a broken connection and blown fuse under the dash, but while pulling and tugging on all the extra harnesses to figure out what was what the fuse for the 6 gun was making a bad connection, didn't throw codes, just killed the six gun, you might want to just pull the fuse on the 6 gun and see if you still throw codes with the 6 gun off. I don't like the way that all the t-taps look on my truck, I'm used to my old mechanical 93. The fuse for the six gun is on the large harness just behind the drivers side battery. The other thing I think I would do is unplug the connections at the crank position sensor, clean and put some dielectric grease on them.

I fought that darn PO336 code FREQUENTLY with my Banks 6-gun system. I always checked the cam postion sensor wiring, connection and so on. My truck would just stumble or "cut out" for a split second, set off the check engine light and throw the code.

So, I said screw it and yanked it out. Bought a Smarty more than a year ago and haven't looked back since. :D:D I've never gotten a CEL with Smarty and it's never done that stumble crap.

Get rid of it and you're problems will go away.

Oh, you can just pull the fuse, good, will do that as I will have it up on the hoist tomorrow checking all the wiring on the crank pos sensor. Will use the dielectric grease and reset the cel and try again without the six gun. Mine does that split second crap too. I hate it. The old 92 never misses a lick. In fact, hauled 10 cord of logs last week with her. May just keep her. thanks fellas. Tim

Mine did that a few times after I first installed it. Each time I just cleared the code and restarted the engine. Haven't had any problems since and it's been about 1 1/2 years. It is a good idea to pull the connection to the crankshaft position sensor, clean it and put some dielectric grease on it. That connector is way down on the side of the engine and subject to a lot of water and dirt. While you're at it, you might consider doing the same to the camshaft position sensor, although that one is a real PITA (at least mine was).

I found the fuse for the six gun. I pulled the cps off and was totally surprised how much oil and dirt was on it. Cleaned it and checked the bolts on the tone ring. Cleared the code and will not pull the fuse on the 6 gun yet, surely you guys are having success with this 6 gun. Also found the compressor for the pacbrake laying in the wheelwell. Thanks camping world. Gonna have to go over everything they touched. Oh, anyone know of a better connection than that crappy T-tap they used, corrosion city!!

Update, used the truck today all day and no more check engine lite or sputters. Keeping fingers crossed that the dirty cps was the problem. May later try the six gun to see if it effects the check engine light. Tim

Hey bud, I have no idea what you are referring to. I have a selection knob that rotates to six positions for the adjustment of power. Is that a gilie knob? PDA E2??? Tim

. Yep, that's it, if you like to clear the entire history of the Six gun tuner (default to factory release) that will reset all the values to current.

Turn Key on (Do not start engine) step on the go pedal five times; Push hard when touching the carpet. Turn key off.

Turn Key on (Do not start engine) step on the go pedal five times, Push hard when touching the carpet. NOW wait 15 seconds or until you hear a click. then turn key off.

Now restart truck and drive like you normally do.

Oh, I have the tuner set on 1 as banks said that takes it out of the system, to reset, do i leave the tuner in the 1 position and follow the procedure? Thanks for the help. Tim

Darn, I went to your web site and you guys got a handle on the Banks stuff, it appears! Is this Todd or chris? When this procedure clears the history, what does that mean. It won't work if I need it? Actually I don't rally need it, I just read that the motor benefits fom better timing in the number 2 position. I guess you have the answer to that. Does it? Thanks Tim

. It will reset all values... Banks has some tricky safety measures that at times bring on some criticism . . Some folks don't know how a code is a good thing. Once it reset you just need to drive it. . the manuals learn quick . . it's the autos that take some time. The Six Gun tuners are like Women, once you understand them then it's easy to fix them. Its Todd. .

Hey Todd, I went through your instructions as outlined and did not hear a click. however I did the procedure in the No. 1 position on the rotary knob. I will call you in the morning. As of current, it has been running fine, with the rotary in 1 and only one trip, I don't go much. May be ok. thanks tim

Damn code 0336 and 0602. Went to haul wood today, and stumbled twice and then threw the light. Was 2 miles into my trip. Ok, is it time to remove the fuse from this six gun? I really do not need more power! Thanks Tim
