Any word on cab layout for the HD's? Any chance of getting a true six man cab and an eight foot bed? I have scanned the net, but have turned up nothing.

not sure on the HD yet, but one article I read talked of a crew cab 1500. Smaller cab than a mega, but larger than the quadcab.

but it doesn't have an 8 foot bed...

the only thing that has come out from Dodge is that the HD's will be different than the 1500's. That is literally the only information that has come out about the new trucks. I imagine that you'll see a Crew Cab and 8 foot bed option for the HD's... just a sneaking suspicion I have after the Mega Cab fiasco.

My dealership told me that the MegaCab was being replaced, in total, with a typical sized Crew Cab... which will have the long bed as an option.

Nobody seemed to want a van with a 6' bed. Payload was there... but the bed just couldn't fit enough stuff to equal the payload... unless you were hauling lead blanks.

my dream truck would be a 4x4 Crew Cab 5500, with a 10 foot flat bed dump. When can i sign the paper work to make it mine :)

Just chatted online with a dodge representative. When asked about the HD trucks, he said that they hadn't been given any info yet. What he did say was that the 1500 will have a crew cab (bigger than the quad, but smaller than the Mega), and that it will be offered with an 8' bed. If they configure it as a HD, we'll have our cake and eat it too. Forgive me if this is old news, but I hadn't heard for sure if we might get a crew cab and an 8' bed. He said the announcement about the HD trucks should be made this fall.

that is not true... . the crew cab trucks will only be offered with a 5'-7" bed.

from allpar

The pickup bed height on all three body styles (54 inches on two-wheel drive models, 56 inches on four-wheel drive models) allows easy over-the-side loading. Three bed lengths are available: 8-foot (regular cab), 6-foot-4-inches (regular cab and Quad Cab®), and a new-for-2009 box length of 5-foot-7-inches (Ram Crew 1500). Dimensions of the 8-foot and 6-foot-3-inch boxes are unchanged from the 2008 model year. All beds now feature integrated bed-rail caps on all three sides.

Anyone looking for a Mega Cab Long Bed can get one from the Dodge dealer in Lancaster CA. Hunter Dodge is converting Mega Cabs to long beds and offering them with the same warranty as other trucks. 661 948 8411 and ask for Keith Breedlove. He is the one to talk to. And NO I am not part of this dealership, I just know that they are offering them. My buddy bought a 4x4 dually long bed from them. SWEET!!

Even the best modified MegaMonster with 8 foot bed still has front end that is too light a duty and too small a GVW. #@$%!

I believe that the interior is supposed to be the same with the 1500 and HD models. The images I have seen of the 1500 interior show a center console so that you could not have 6 people in the cab (only 2 seats up front).
