I know I have seen these sizes posted before, but tonight I have searched and cannot find them . . .

What is the size of the break-off screw on the rear of the AFC that holds the cover over the "smoke screw" (preload screw on the AFC diaphragm)? I want to have a button head allen screw handy to replace the break-off screw when I tune my AFC.

Thanks,

6x1. 00 if i remember right, i just replaced all of mine with them when i had it apart, one or two were stripped from the dumbass who wrenched on it before i bought it but i was able to slip in longer bolts and access the virgin threads below the oem bolt's reach

Thanks! I don't think there is any oil spalshing in that area is there? ie: can I leave that back cover off and still drive without it making a mess?

Thanks LV. I've already got the allen bolts for the top of the AFC housing--just wanted to know what size the bolts on the rear cover for the smoke screw were.

if you are talking about the 4 screws on the back of the AFC housing covering the diaphragm, they are he same size 6x1. 0x20

Ah, I got you. Thanks for that info. I actually was originally talking about the two screws that hold the small cover on the back of the larger back cover that covers the diaphragm. I had forgotten there was also a break off screw on the set of four you mentioned.

The screw holding the stamped steel cover is M6 x 1. 0 x 8 mm. The screws for the halves of the AFC at the diaphragm can be replaced with M6 x 1. 0 x 12 or 14 mm.

Thanks Joe! I know I have seen a post of yours somewhere in the past that listed all the sizes, but I sure couldn't find when I searched the other day.

I got my AFC modded yesterday, now I just need to dial it on Saturday. Not that I have the need for lots of travel with my current mods, but someday . . . ;)
