New guy here in need of some help! Ive got a 2007.5 megacab dually with the 6.7 and 6 speed manual trans.
Ive had the p0513 code happen a few times in the last 6 months with all being random conditions that occured in. Now it has stuck around on me. I have the factory keys still. Batterys in the fobs and truck are new. Key 1 will not unlock doors or let engine continue to run. Key 2 will randomly let engine run and unlock doors. The p0513 is the only code in the engine ecm. The wcm doesnt have any codes stored. The wcm live data on my autel scanner shows that the key isnt recognised and calls for the ecm to shut the engine down. Im not able to confirm that the wcm or the keys have failed. Any advise is super appreciated. Thanks!

It's Been a long time since I worked on one of these, but my guess is the WCM is bad. I also recall that you should never erase an active P0513 or it will render the WCM inoperable. The code goes stored once the problem is resolved and then it can safely erased.

I decided to go for replacing the wcm with a factory new replacement. Ive got a autel scanner and its asking for a pin code. Ive tried calling dealerships and cant find someone who knows what im talking about. I also tried calling the dodge 1 800 number and that was a absolute waste of time and patience. Have you been able to obtain this code someway? It seems like stealing a truck would be easier than driving one you own at this point.

You need to talk to the parts department. They have key and PIN codes. They may ask for a copy of the registration to prove ownership. It is your truck and they have to provide it, even though they may waffle at first.

If you have AlfaOBD you can pull the PIN yourself, if the dealer isn't helping.

i went to the local dealer this morning and was able to obtain that magical 4 digit code! Thank you again for your help. I will try the code asap and hopefully be back in business

I was able to use the autel last night and set the new wcm to my vin and send the code to the ecm. The wcm seems to be communicating and shows live data. I cannot program the 2 factory keys to this new wcm though, it shows an error message. I was able to install the old wcm, delete keys from it, install new wcm, and still couldnt program the keys to it. I was able to program the old keys to the old wcm and all fuctions work and the ecm isnt told to shut down. The issue i had was super intermittent so im sure this isnt “fixed” using the old wcm. Has anyone had issues getting the keys programmed?

Did you reset the RFH after the install of the WCW? Everytime you play around with that stuff the RFH needs a reset and a key cycle. Okay, most of the time...

i didnt know that was another part of this system. Is there any other names for that part? Ill look into my autel options and see if i see it in there. Ive been a little worried to reset something i didnt know need to be reset so i dont make it worse

Thank you guys for your help. I got a new doorman brand key/fob and was able to hang the new wcm below the ignition cylinder and successfully program the new key and new fob to the truck using the old key to turn the ignition. I have to get the new key cut in the morning and will hopefully be back going. Cant figure why the old keys wont program but it is what it is.
