Just got home to find my Skyjacker suspension system had been dropped off by UPS.

I can't believe my eyes, one box torn cause it's almost paper thin. Shocks missing, U bolts missing and who knows what else. They packed way too much heavy stuff with no packing tape.

Looked at my rear leaf springs and set them on edge side by side, hmmm theres 1/2" height difference. OK maybe theres a left and right spring... Nope, not marked in any way. Advertising says they match each set

Rear leaves are supposed to be tapered, guess what, their not tapered at all.

Gonna call 1st thing tomorrow and tell them to pick it up cause I did'nt sign for this junk. Don't wanna hear it's an unusual event because the way they packed this stuff is sinfull

When I pay over $1200 for parts and $130 shipping I expect MUCH better... .

I say keep it you never got it I'll swear to it bad deal thats one thing about 4WPW they get your stuff to you safe and quick oh ya and what you ordered

Dane, send it back. I recently went to SEMA and there are several better companies making lifts for our trucks now. Whiplash was one that I was incredibly impressed by. Fabtech is another good one and RCD(?) is considered the best by the off-road racers.

On edit: I forgot to mention when I got my skyjacker lift in 1998 it was in a similar condition, pathetic. It took another two weeks to get teh rest of the parts and I had a spring company install it so they could check everything.

My problem with Skyjacker wasn't the components but instruction manual and packaging.

I came home to a mound of parts on my front door step too. I was actually surprised that nothing was missing or damaged.

But the biggest problem I had with Skyjacker was the lack of quality instructions. My kit came with some copied prints stapled together. The copies looked like they were reproduced from a copy of a copy. The illustration were so poor that they were useless.

Just wait and see what happens if you try and call Skyjacker for technical support. Their tech people (at least in my experience) don't know crap about lift kits. I know, when I put my 4. 5" kit in my truck sat crooked. Turned out one front coil was about 1-1/2" shorter than the other one. Don't ask me how I didn't see that before I put everything together.

Who is better than Skyjacker?

I have been contemplating the Skyjacker 2. 5" lift, but am a little worried now. Do any of you have experience with a better product?

All the kits for are trucks are big dollars the smaller lifts I like the stage 2 2" ProComp real nice lift totally complete, and my truck ran up and down the road real well comes with duel front shocks which stiffen the ride alittle but it handled much better than stock. But I put a 3" Superlift on my buddys truck and that kit really impressed me and thats what I'm putting on my new truck for the price it should come with duel shocks but it doesn't both of these are around $850 and use a coil spring spacer to lift not new springs.

BTW: I was just kidding about keeping the lift (or should i say pieces)

Dane, I'm not sure what UPS is like in California, but up here in Alaska I absolutely believe UPS uses woodchippers to sort packages, and drunken monkeys to deliver them.

Without exception, *every* package I've ever had delivered to me by UPS has been damaged significantly, or been left out in the rain by a driver who couldn't be bothered to at least put the package under the covered walkway to the front door of my house (yes, this actually happened to me more than once).

You were very lucky you happened to be home when the driver delivered it--imagine the hassle you'd have to go through if you came home to find that the driver had just dumped the whole mess in your front yard!

This isn't to say that Skyjacker couldn't package their stuff better, but you might try having them ship via USPS or FedEx next time.

Superlift makes a real nice 5" lift kit for our Diesel Rams, I know, I just switched to the Superlift.

On a 3,000 mile trip to see the finish of the Baja 1000 in La Paz Mexico last month, the Superlift kit performed perfectly on the EarthRoamer.

Superlift 5"?

Bill how good is this lift? This looks really promising. I want something that will clear 37-38" tires, but want the minimum lift necessary.

Does anyone else have experience with the Superlift 5"?

How about that new SkyKing Coilover setup? THAT looks like a real trick setup, but I don't want to be the guinea.

Well, it looks like UPS is NOT to blame this time, is it? If Skyjacker used better packing material, maybe UPS, or any other shipping company for that matter, would have an easier time delivering. AND, skyjacker needs to ship more boxes that are smaller and lighter, that way UPS doesn't go ape s*** over big and heavy boxes! I know a couple of UPS drivers, and they both complain about overweight boxes (85+ pounds!) that they have to lug around alone!

Sorry for going on about this, I know there was another thread about this two weeks ago, and I think it needs to stop, as nothing is going to change by us ranting and flaming each other for our opinions. Just my $. 02.
