Since he actually gets 10 to 12 mpg means you're closer, so you get the prize, which is a tray full of pita bread. You'll have to go to Calgary to claim your prize.

Holy Crap! That's just a hair over $2. 00 per gallon. My truck always seem to run better on Pemex fuel too. Probably the difference between going from winter fuel here in the US to regular D#2 in Mexico.

Yeah, we computed it to be $2. 16 a gallon more or less depending on the rate of exchange. My friend's '07 has 7200 miles on it of which 80% has been Pemex. We'll pull the filter soon. He hasn't run a drop of additive yet in it. Time will tell.

$3. 259 yesterday at the MurphyUSA here($65. 00 for only19. 9 gals). Got all fired up because premium was $3. 099(reg was $2. 899). Fuel around here was almost always $. 20 to $. 30 cheaper than regular until we bought our diesels. Then my better half reminded me that we would have spent $20 more to drive our old suburban the same distance. She was right. She averaged 12. 5 mpg in the suburban(93 2500hd,4x4,454,4L80Ew/4. 10s),but she got 18. 4 in her 01 cummins. I still don't like the fact that diesels rising faster than gas around here though. It's bad enough that only a few stations around here even carry it. Had a fellow tell me the other day that part of the problem is that the new ULSD is proving more expensive to produce than was originally projected. I don't know, but the price around here jumped at least $. 15 the day each station switched over.

I just started running a mixture of ( get ready to laugh ) chicken fat and diesel in the boat. I buy it from a guy I've known a long time who's owned and operated trucks and boats forever. It's $2. 69 vs. $2. 91 to $3. 10 around here.

This is off road stuff, of course. I can't see any difference in consumption, and I have pretty good fuel flow gauges. It does burn cleaner for sure. One engine burns some oil and was smoking, it's clean as can be at the stack now. Also, I don't have those god awful soot balls out of the exhaust when I crank up in the morning. The exhaust doesn't smell as bad, either. I think he told me is was 40% chicken and 60% regular #2. I've heard of guys running it straight, but you have to be careful in the colder weather, it will solidify and clog the lines.
