Competition How much Power?

Competition Truck pulling the sled!

New Castle, Pa, ATPA First Pro Stock Diesel Pull.

JOHNBOY of all people, dethrowns me, and gives Dave Mitchell a thrashing for good measure!

Deshong, a Mitchell truck from Eastern Pa, and another Cummins got first and second, Johnboy in at third, and was last at 97 feet.

The truck threw a fit of bouncing and I let off. Hope I guessed right at what it was and don't do it again.

Let me have it, I can take it!!:D

I just got home.......

I had a pretty good time tonight. The pull was well run as usual. It's nice to be able to sign up and pull without any hassle.

It's too bad the hop monster struck tonight, there would have been a really good pull off I'm sure. If I wouldn't have screwed up at the line I may have poked the sled out the gate too instead of just the truck. Oh well.

;)

Gene, the fact you were quick to post of your defeat, leaves you the King in my eyes. :D:D:D

Don

P. S. Larry Crawford strikes again  Oo. :D:D:D In Owensville Mo on Saturday night, this unasuming, mild mannered representative of our state government, managed to wow the crowds with 2, TWO, thats right 2 Full pulls. Pull #1 350'+. Pull #2 after some coaching from myself, 375'+. The sled was set a little light, but for our first ever diesel class, we gave them an exciting and not soon forgotten, show. Using my tow vehicle, I managed to pull 244'+ on the first pull and 323'+ on the second pull. First pull was way low on gearing as I was worried about the clutch. We had two other pullers in the class with us. Jeff Strothkamp, managed two 287'+ pulls. Lee, I did not catch his last name, driving a bone stock 2001 managed two 237'+ pulls.

Johnboy and the Drof put Gene and "Smokin Dave'' in their places,UH OH,better start bagging the sand for the flood thats going to hit my house today,,Only one little question for Gene-How did Johnboy get back inside his truck to drive home afterwards??????,,Congrats to our resident Drof pilot and the lone standout for them that posts here... ... . Andy

P. S. -Deshongs truck, while its not much to look at,is certainly capable to go out the gate most places as it does have the power,,One thing that confused me last week at the Buck was his comments about not having the power to run with the "heavy hiting twins group"but, all the while he said that, Dave just laughed and said he can make as much power with a single turbo...

Chris,,How come you did not stop by and say hi at the Buck,I was the only TDR graphics ride in the small show and shine area,,There were two M-D TDR members a runnin around,Myself and CAM(Mike Chelf).....

After watching the video this morning...

I couldn't see much for all the smoke last night from the staging area. Deshong could have dragged that sled for another 300 it looks like, but they stopped him once out the gate. The power is definately there.

Thanks Hammer. I just got lucky more then anything I suppose.

well deflate my tires---what the 'ell happened--congrats to Deshong and Johnboy--does anyone have the total results---chris

Big_DQ, I wish you guys pulled somewhat closer to OKC, I'd really like to see some action. This one is for anybody, Piers had joked about a 2WD class, does anyone do this!

Jim

Gene, If you were winning all the pulls it would get to a point nobody would come out to play. There will be other pulls. Good to hear you didn't break anything. You are still #1 in my book!!!:-laf :-laf Jeff

Hammer

We didnt pull in the gate until about 6:00:mad: We had a monster of a structure fire the night before and I only got a few hours of sleep so I drug the camper down and we stayed the night. Had to hurry and eat then rush to the track. There was a white dually parked right behind the bleachers where we sat (pit side) I think it had a MD logo. Was pretty tired and not seein too straight. That kind of screwed up my night, I was hoping to get in the pits and finally meet some of you guys and get a close up of the Mitchell truck. Even thought about entering and hooking up, but the Mrs. said if I broke I'd be pulling the camper home on my back:--)

Chris
