Competition 0-60

Competition West Coast Events.

I am wanting to get into some local sled pulling events and was wondering if there is a thread or if someone can tell me what are some general rules that I need to follow. I guess I am asking how do I participate in these events and then I will work on modifying the truck.

Thanks,

Todd

Check out DHRA Online they have some rules listed on their site that are pretty common to local fairs. Also if you are going to a county fair look for a website, they may have the rules online also. Typically 26 inch hitch height, DOT tires, no nitrous or propane but you can get away with it at different places that don't know what they are looking at.

Basically a stock truck can pull in the "Hot" class with the appropriate hitch. Is this correct? Also, what does this hitch look like?

Sorry for the newbe questions.

Todd

" no nitrous or propane but you can get away with it at different places that don't know what they are looking at" . It's that kinda crap that really ruins a nice sport. The whole reason it is fun, is by trying to beat someone by FOLLOWING the rules..... MARC

I agree with you 100%, Marc, I got beat by a guy this year with an old 12 valve shooting flames out of his exhaust. The problem is the hilljack inspectors don't know what they are looking at and even if they did the local rules don't say anything about it. I personally am a #2 only person, water injection would be one thing, but the other stuff doesn't belong. That's alright though, I am hoping to put enough things together this year to show him how to make power on straight #2.

I am certainly glad you agree... . In just about the pulls around me there is at least one FOUL character trying to sneak something by, either in the tractor classes or trucks. I too am getting some good stuff together, and just #2 here as well :D . Good luck to ya' and maybe we'll meet up somewhere this year and do it right together..... Marc

Hitch has a maximum height of 26 or 27 inches, can't remember which off the top of my head and is a ring with an inside diameter 3 inches or larger.
