That's just it. They are about equal. I guess it comes down to which one you can get for a better price of who has better customer service.

If you actually knew what you were talking about   , you wouldn't have made the above comment. They are not equal by any means. I've seen both inside and out, read on the specs and details from both companies, and ended up with the sps 66 from industrial injection.

And based on my observations, and those of many others, the sps 66 flat out kicks butt over the sled puller.

Mine hits 53 psi now so fast, its amazing. :-laf I get better mpg, and my egt's are very low.

Can you elaborate on the differences??

Thank You

The Sled puller is a good turbo, HTT makes a great product! But I also went with the SPS 66 from II because they have done their homework on these turbos with the extensive machining, and air flow to have a charger that spools up super fast and has very good upper end cooling.

Boy there are a lot of them.

If you had them side by side, it would be easy to explain. (as was done for me).

Differences in compressor side, impeller, exhaust housing, shaft, etc.

Does anyone have one of each to post a photo of showing the above? I'm not sure I can explain if without a set of good photos.

Thanks

I was told by a source that talked to I. I. that the PS66 is almost identical to the Sledpuller66 - But that the SPS66 was a step above

I have a HTT Killer B2 64mm Comp side/ 14cm WG'd and still not enough air... . heck I've got to much fuel for a single. Anyways I have been considering upgrading this turbo to a Sled Puller 66, but worry about getting into lag issues at lower RPM's after having a HX55 that didn't light till 2100RPM's.

Seems I've heard that I. I. claims they can get their turbos to not surge I've been contemplating sending mine to I. I. when I get the time and $$$.

Of course this is the odvious, but have you called both shops and asked them their differences between each others products?

i was gonna post this question yesterday. thanks

i too have a htt 64/14 but i havent installed it yet. well see if its enough air. anyone have dyno comparisons on the 2 side by side?

We have near identical setups. I have PDR 370's, Laser Cut DV's, and a #100 plate centered. Normal driving and moderate playing it will flow enough to stay cool, but usually anything past 1/2 throttle gets HOT in a hurry. However 1/2 throttle with this much fuel is REALLY MOVING!

Sorry haven't dynoed on mine yet..... I will @ IRP in June though. Oo.

after having a HX55 that didn't light till 2100RPM's

Sorry but that is sad..... and they are suppose to be the end all. You won't have that issue with a Phat Shaft 66.

I wonder what the flow difference is between a 66 and a 55?

I don't even know what wheel is in a 55.

Jim

I ran a htt 62/14 for a year at 485 hp every day on the street. I now run a htt 66/14 that spools just as well with the fuel turned up to somewhere arround 515 hp. I have not dynoed yet. EGTs are no higher and the truck feels stronger than you would think 30 hp would be. I have ran 13. 40s at 485 hp. Any large turbo can have surge at some situations but you can drive arround it. With a auto transmission driving arround empty I have no surge.

HTT also figured out how to just about eliminate the surge on the Sled Puller. I got my SledPuller about a year agao and it will surge pretty easily. I got one for a buddy recently and his does not. He has to try really hard to get it to surge even just a little. Spoolup is no problem at all!

:{ Still no imperical data. It seems that the Phat Shaft people swear by theirs and the same for the sled puller guys. Does anyone have side by side photos? I guess it will come down to price and service.

What kind of gear/transmission/tire setups are you guys running with 66mm size turbos?

Currently I'm running 35" tires with 3. 55 gears and I have a 5spd. I'm running 1500RPM's @ 55mph and either 5psi or less (gauge doesn't start reading till 5psi) so it will lag just a second if I hammer it. Now if I cruise @ 60-65mph I'm around 1600-1700 RPM's and around 8psi or so and I hammer it it usually takes off.

I'm about to downsize to 33" tires which will raise my RPM's @ 55mph so I'm wondering if I stick to 33's would a sled puller 66 upgrade drive just as nice as my 64/14? I don't want any big lag issues like with a really big charger.

I have heard from a couple people that the SPS66 is good for about 20HP over a SP66. I personally think that the HTT turbos can be had for cheaper, since last time I inquired with II about a dealership I never got a response back and their were two times that I asked for some info and they were supposed to call me back. I have to give the service and price to HTT.

You should talk to member cahammer. He went from a 62/12 to a 66/14 and from what he tells me he wishes he would have just went straight to the 66 to begin with. I went from HX35/14 to the 66/14 and can't say I notice a big difference in lag. Love it!
