I was looking on the net (with no luck) to find a "sleeper cab" to fit my 06' 3500 CC short bed. The only think that came up was cabs for big rigs. Any links on info?

I had a Mckinley Sleeper done on my wife's '05 Quad cab Short Bed. Super clean, factory looking install. Blows the Mega Cab away. I had him install buckets for the middle row of seats for 3+2+3 seating. Victor McKinley and his family are really nice folks.

And now for the magic question, what is the price range of the Mckinley Sleeper? I know its custom, but ball park price.

The computer won't let me attach the pics I have. His website is not the best in the world. He himself doesn't even have a computer. But by golly can he work aluminum. He also built a custom cap to match the sleeper. PM me and I'll try sending you the pics on regular e-mail.

FDNYMOPARGUY,

I know I am resurrecting an old post, but do you mind if I ask how much the cap was? I have the sleeper and would love the cap as well.

Don't know if this fits fits your needs, but if you actually want to sleep in the thing check
out fourwheelcampers.com. When you don't need the camper, put the jacks down,
drive out from under it, and you have the full box still in tact.

I only resurrected this thread because I like the shell that was on the back of FDNYMOPARGUY's truck. I have the exact same sleeper that he has. I bought mine from McKinley's about three years ago.

I added my sleeper to mine reg cab 2500 because I wanted an inexpensive way to get seating for my three daughters. I have a 12 valve that I bought brand new and it made more $$ sense to for me to just do that rather than get a different truck.

Thanks for the other additional links, very entertaining.

I think the cap was about $2000. Very good price considering it was custom and a regular cap would be about the same, if not more. Beautiful craftsmanship.

Thanks for the response. That's not a bad price considering the work that is involved in making it. When I got my sleeper from Vic, he was in Muleshoe, Texas. Now I heard he was closer to Fort Worth Texas.

Did you mean a DOT legal sleeper cab for commercial hauling? If so, the above photos are not of a DOT sleeper.

The minium dimensions of a legal DOT sleeper cab are precise and intended to provide a driver with adequate room to stretch out and sleep restfully. The dimensions can be found in state commercial driver handbooks or on the DOT website.

No, I don't care about DOT, I don't haul commercially. The McKinley sleeper does in fact have a bench seat that makes a bed. That's not why I got mine. I just wanted to seat three more people. In FDNYMOPARGUY's case, he got three row seating by having the quad cab and adding the sleeper cab.
