I'm trying like heck to get out of town and it's one thing after another! Yesterday I found the hydraulic reservoir was low so I added per directions. The slide worked fine again. Today I go out and try to bring the slide in and it gets half way and the pump quits. The designated fuse is fine. I tried the switch on the pump itself; no go. I ended up using the manual hex drive and got it in with a drill. So it appears there is fluid to work the ram, but I'm wondering where the power went. Is there another fuse I need to look for perhaps? I'm not overly familiar with hydraulics so I'm not sure where to start.

By the way, if you have an RV with a slide out, make sure the pump is installed so you can get a drill into the manual screw! My pump was put in so that I couldn't; had to unbolt it and rotate it to get at the screw!

The motor might have an internal thermal overload cutout but it should reset after a cooldown period. Is there a stop switch that stops the motor when slide is fully in or out, if not there is probably a high amp cutout to stop the motor. I have straight 12v motor/gears and my stop control is mounted under the bathroom sink. bg

A strong 12 volt battery is required, even when plugged in to shore power. If your trailer has been stored and the battery(ies) are down or bad the slide(s) won't retract.

Try checking your batteries. Recharge or replace as needed.

?

My slide did the same thing shortly after we bought it I took it down to have warranty work on it and they threw everything at it new motor new motor control I was going to take it home because the shop was not in the best part of town. Got it home and thinking about the problem the only thing that they didnt replace was the wiring and the slide switch. Took the switch plate off and one wire was off a terminal replaced it and IT WORKED!!!! last time I have taken it to that RV dealer Richardson's RV Riverside There would be no gravity on Earth if they didnt SUCK SO MUCH The best part was that they left the old motor and control in the trailer when I didnt come back they wanted me to pay or bring the parts back MY ANWSER WAS "F" YOU funny last I heard from them hope I didnt offend them

The battery is good, I found out that the convertor doesn't make enough juice a few years ago.

All wires connected. That would have been nice if that was the problem! It's 18° in Ely right now and it's warm INSIDE the trailer. If it's an outside issue, it will have to wait.

I was hoping it was a thermal switch, but I drove 6 hours and it still didn't work. I've never heard the motor stop when all the way in or out; it just kind of changed pitch and that's when I stop. Probably has a pressure relief in the hydraulic system.
