Caterpillar Dry Film lube # 222-3116. I got some at work and they use it on Backhoe extention booms. It works well and no greasy mess. It sprays on and dries in minutes.

The evil Opposite

is Lucas 5th wheel lube. That stuff is slick and sticks to everything in sight. Good, but an unsightly mess.

I just use WD-40 once a year on the slider when I lube the entire hitch and piviot points.

I use regular old dish soap

just pour it on and carry a spray bottle of water with you. Wet it down before you slide it. When it gets diry just wash it off.

Or you can go to a farm supply store and get what is called plow coat or slip plate. Basically the same stuff.



I've gotten the slip plate from the Case-IH dealer. They use it with the seed drums on the planters where the drum runs against the hopper while planting.
