I was thinking about sliding my plate forward this weekend. Is it just a matter of marking it's current position and then moving it forward? Then how far forward should I turn the star wheel on the afc?

Do I need to do anything with the boost fitting?

It is easy to slide the plate. Some people drill a hole in the break off screw (top left) and then use a torx to get it out. I just used a flat screwdriver and drove it out, then replaced it with an allen bolt. I marked where mine was stock, and loosened the two screws that hold the plate in place, and slid away! Thighten the screws down, put the afc cover back on, (which you can put full foward or back if you choose, do a search for more info). If you have a boost elbow, you may want to tighten the allen screw. I think I was running about 26-28 psi when I had my stock plate full foward. Hope this helps. It is a really easy job (no more than 20 minutes your first time).

I dont know why my post showed up twice... .

anyways, I think the boost elbow is like 25$ from tst (tstproducts.com). I would think it would be worth it, but maybe not necessary. Someone with more experience than me probably needs to answer this one.

I like to use a boost elbow on one too for control, but if you don't have one ore don't want to use one just disable the wastegate's hose and plug the hole at the AFC or Turbo depending on the model, you will not have enough fuel to over speed the turbo with a stock setup.

I have the stocker slid full forward and the wastegate line plugged with a bolt. Should i hook it back up when i get a custom plate made and 3gsk springs?

Plate Moving

Slide that plate forward and the afc housing full forward and the starwheel forward and get the timing set up to 16*, one thing to watch out for when doing this is the power get really addictive, HAVE FUN!!! Oo.
