Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Sliding the plate forward

I slid my stock plate forward after first scribing some lines in the original location. Now I'm wondering how much it can be slid forward. Are we talking as far as the slots will allow. I only moved it a little bit and wow it's got more power.

I'm watching the pyrometer closer now and the boost comes on alot faster.

I ran a long time on my stock plate all the way forward. It's no problem as long as you keep an eye on the pyro when you are on it hard. I could floor mine on a hill with a load and not get too hot within the speed limit (1175º pre turbo). Where the heat will really show up is when you are on the go peddle when going really fast. Slide away, you will like the power.
