Use of 4WD on Slippery Highway

Not sure if this is normal but I know on my old gas cars I would hear a similar noise whenever I would punch the gas as I accidently put it into a high gear. It's like a momentary loss of power right before it downshifts and really takes off. Not sure if I'm making sense here. I first noticed it last night as I was getting into the highway and decided to open up wide on the throttle. I heard a slight rattling noise for like half a second right before the engine down shifted and took off. Is this normal? I wouldn't normally drive it so hard but as I understand it is good to open up wide on the throttle now and then especially if you haven't worked your truck....or have I been misinformed?

These new engines should not let you do anything that will harm it. That is a common low RPM injector rattle or some such thing. Drive it like you stole it! SNOKING
