Here is my sad tale. My 1999 has 75000 miles. At 72000 the transmission started slipping in 4th gear and not wanting to shift between 2nd and 3rd. Took it to an auto transmission rebuilder and had it rebuilt. It was good for about 3000 miles. Went to San Diego from Phoenix on Christmas day and the transmission started slipping in 4th again. This time, in the mountains, it started slipping badly. Couldn't do more than 45 MPH. Took the truck to a shop in SD and they replaced the torque converter. Everything is good again until almost back to Phoenix. Started slipping again. Went back to orginal rebuilder. They used a diagnostic computer and it showed a throttle pressure sensor reading of . 43 volts. The mechanic said that it should be above 1 volt, and that this was my problem. I was not sending the correct reading to the transmission to lock up the torque converter. Can anyone verify this? The truck is sitting until I can figure out what to do. I'm hoping that the latest torque converter has not been ruined yet. Thanks.
