I've read alot about clutches slipping with injectors + EZ, but mine seems to be going with just the EZ.

The first time was a 3rd gear start, which I can understand but the last one was just towing 1500lbs!

I was going up a 4% grade in 5th @ 1800rpm and rolled on the throttle. The clutch let go. Has anybody had this problem? I'm worried about what will happen when I hook up my 5er???

A buddy of mine (not a member of TDR) just had to replace the clutch on his 2001 HO and the only upgrade he had was an EZ. .

I have been lucky, mine has held with DD2s and a Power Puck (although the Puck was on only a few miles). I am adding a CPC this week so I'll see if it can hold that back! I will be around 370hp/775tq at least with the CPC & DD2s. I have been careful with my clutch from day one, but I've done several 3rd gear launches doing burnouts.

Had my clutch replaced under the big W at 11,000 miles so I will look for the slipping again at 22,000 miles then I will fix it with a South Bend.

SandDemon,

I think I came up with the reason why some slip with less mods than others. I posted this in an earlier post but the reasoning is the clutch material. I went through about 200 OEM clutch linings for the ETH that we had taken off and found a difference in materials from one to the other. Some had more brass weaved throughout and some had more fiberglass. There was a difference in part numbers on the linings so it appears that the manufacturer has 2 different sources that supply them with clutch linings. You must have the one with the majority of fiberglass.

I hope this helps to understand even though it's not good news.

I HAVE AN ETH/DEE CLUTCH CORE !!!!!!:D :D :D I am getting is boxed to send to Peter @ SBC. I do not need it at the moment, but I am sure it will be needed in the future. If you need it built before I do contact Peter or myself and you are welcome to BORROW it... ... ... ... ... YOU MUST REPLACE IT. I had to replace it at 22,000 miles because I was using my truck to move RVs around my dealership. That was in the middle of all that hullabaloo when there was not a definative answer to our clutch problems as there is now. I replaced the unit with another OEM unit to get me by for awhile... ... ... hence the extra clutch core. I have to go to UPS to send off a bunch of Frantz filters the guys have ordered so I'll try and get the clutch core off to Peter today... .....

I must be lucky as well since I have DD1's and the EZ and my clutch is not even beginning to slip or atleast yet. And I have towed my 6000 lbs trailer over the mountains three weeks ago and it's hold great.
